Now that I finally have my hands on the Nokia N97 I can start showing you my own video demonstrations of the Nokia N97 and it’s many features. To start things off I’m going to show you how to customize the N97 homescreen. Right now I think I have the homescreen how I want, however sometimes this changes day by day based on what I’m doing or where I’m at. As you can see to the left I currently have my 4 shortcuts at the top, Gmail, RSS Feed, Favorite Contacts, and Music Player.
Sometimes when I’m in the social mood I’ll add the Facebook widget or Gravity (Twitter) widget to my homescreen so I can keep up in real time. If I’m in another region of the country it would be wise for me to add the weather app to my N97 homescreen so that I can be sure I’m not gonna step into a thunderstorm or extreme heat with a sweater on. If the LA Dodgers were playing today I’d grab an RSS feed from my favorite sports blog to keep me up with the game and set it to update every 15 minutes. This way I wouldn’t have to keep hitting refresh, now I can just glance at my homescreen. That reminds me… I’m still waiting for a good Symbian sports scores application. Hint hint wink wink ESPN or Yahoo Sports.
Enough jibble jabble. Lets get to the video. This is my first ever video blog so bear with me. To be honest with you I think it’s pretty good. The video was shot with the Nokia N82 and I even managed to add the title on the device. Beautiful.

And there you go. I hope you enjoyed the video. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions about the N97 homescreen and I’ll be sure to answer them. I’m also taking requests for other video demonstrations.
