N97 OEM Housing Replacement For Scratched Screens

While I know lately there has been a lot of discussion/posts about scratches on the N97’s here at N97fanatics.com and we’ve had coverage on what can be done to protect against this. But what happens if you were one of the many eager N97 owners that cruised nude without a protector? While there weren’t many options for repair, now there is! CNN.CN has a replacement housing (currently only available in white) for those willing to replace the entire casing. It might not be the most economical fix (142.99 without tax and shipping) but its great that they are offering a solution. This does offer hope that in the future they will offer just the front case. But for now those that are in dire need can order a replacement and be sure to protect the new screen with a protector

Never buy products unless they are genuine oem, made by nokia. I bought a housing replacement on ebay because my slider unlock button broke off and it screwed me. I took 2 hours taking the phone all the way apart and replacing in the new part just to later find the new part doesnt have the 2 copper leads required for wifi, bluetooth, and gps reception. I now get wifi reception only if I am within 5 feet of the router. BUY Original equipment manufacturer!

How was the new fascia? Am thinking of getting one as I got my N97 back after sending it off to repair only to find that Nokia had done NOTHING in terms of repairs!! I am so p*ssed off! grrr

Get a screen protector from apple store, cut it to fit the screen and it will lay flat no bubbles

I know Zagg does have N97 protectors now. They usually offer a really good product.

I bought one of the screen protectors and put it on today - worst mistake i ever made! I wish i just stuck with the original now, even if it was starting to show a few marks. You absolutely cannot get every single air bubble out when you put one of these 3rd party screen protectors on, and are guaranteed to be left with some around the buttons and around certain parts of the edge of the screen.

xello you just need a firm hand to have no air bubbles, I have shielded my phone, mp3 player and even camera with no air bubbles lol...
