Do You Have Questions About The N97? Get Them Answered!

by Mike Macias on June 7, 2009

Just yesterday our writer Madoda posted an article about the Q&A page that was hosted by the kind fellas at All About Symbian.  There were many great questions asked by their readers and a ton of answers. But maybe you still have a question of your own? Now is the time to ask.

Axel Meyer, Nokia’s Global Design Head for Nokia Nseries, is visiting India in a few days to meet with a handful of bloggers. He is the man behind the creation of the N97 and is probably the best person to go to for information.  My pal Aditya from Aditya’s Phones will be meeting up with Axel on June 9th to discuss the Nseries and specifically the Nokia N97. Aditya just posted an article on his blog asking readers to give him questions to ask Axel Meyer and pick his brain. Now is your chance to get your question in!

If you have a question for Axel jump over to Aditya’s blog and let him know. LINK

Doesnt Nokia Messaging use an Internet connection to access mail? Thats the reason I switched from iphone back to Blackberry. Iphone email was hopelessly slow and inefficient and using Iphone o/c compared to Blackberry was rediculously expensive
  • Nokia Messaging works in the USA on the $15/month unlimited data plan w/ AT&T. I use it and love it.

I have an E90 and upgraded to an N97. I use Blackberry feature of the E90 for email. Does anyone know if the N97 supports Bl;ackberry software at all or have I just wasted my money
  • None of the new phones work with Blackberry. Use Nokia Messaging instead.
  • Martyn,

Not too sure about the Vodafone aspect of your problem (hopefully someone else can enlighten us about that), but I know that a hard reset will likely solve your issues concerning the old user data, etc. It may even solve the internet connectivity issue. Give it a try, but read this article by @EverythingBlaxx first...he's real knowledgeable about resetting the N97

    Hi
I have recently bought a second hand N97 from ebay. I have put my Vodafone Sim card into it which was previously used to access the internet, email, facebook etc.
The problem is that although the phone works ok I cannot connect to the internet through Vodafone and I still have the previous owners details on Hotmail, Facebook etc.
Is there any way of re-setting the internet settings from the previous owners and how do I connect to Hotmail and such

    Thank you

wow im just simple out of words to explain this phone. this is a total iphone killer. this will take iphone way out of the picture. i got my unlocked N97 last week from www.puremobile.com i think this is the best phone nokia has ever come up with and its a must have....
  • There is also Palringo and Fring which I use on my E71. I'm not quite sure if they have since been ported to support s60 5th Ed or not, but I'm sure that if its not the case then they are probably working on that. Do also frequent Ovi store to check apps compatible to the N97.

Does the phone have an instant messaging service available on it..?
  • there are many different instant messaging applications available for the Nokia N97. Probably the best is called Nimbuzz. Check it out at Nimbuzz.com
  • As far as I know, the N97 doesn't support Blackberry Connect (speaking under correction thought).

Does the N97 have Blackberry Support software
  • Madoda is right - Blackberry Support software will not be provided by Blackberry as of right now on the N97. But Nokia is working on their very own email service which is coming along quite nicely. If you want more information visit http://email.nokia.com
