i read what u say but we are not beta testers to buy such expensive phone to test and then tell nokia that these all are the problems and do something with it as this only ends with frustration, and dissapointment. As a early buyer we always get phones at very high cost (and letter cost drop) so in such situation how we become wrong when we expect nokia to give best quality and definitely a bugless phone which nokia can't. So to all peoples don't buy this phone this is very buggy and u will definitely regret

apparently the 5800xm was overclocked to the same speed as the n97 and the 5630xm was overclocked to 600mhz, is that right? just something i read. and the N900? grr >< im rather annoyed about that! i just bought the n97 then read about that! its good spec wise. but i think the n97 is much nicer to look at. i wonder if they will introduce shared memory into the n97? Thanks

Oh yes that is the 5800xm I believe, and that was updated w/ firmware. Hopefully they can do the same for the N97. What are you're thoughts on the N900, the latest article on this site covered it.

Ahh. sounds good! ill get it and update it as soon as it comes xD i bought it unbranded and unlocked. so should be good, and look good being black! next firmware sounds brilliant, wonder when it will come? would be amazing if they overclocked the processor. i heard people talking about another nokia phone with the same processor clocked at 600mhz? and im wondering, since im new to the n97 (althought i have an n95 8gb atm) im wondering what cool and usefull apps you would reccomend i download? Thanks

Well the current firmware is much more stable all around. No new features have been added, but it's able to keep more apps open at once and most of the bugs have been worked out. It's also much snappier now.

The next firmware should have kinetic scrolling, I'm hoping more menu/UI transition effects, more snappy, and hopefully the Skype app that they've been promising.

Of course all of that is just rumors, time will tell.

Ahh really? so they were all done on v10.xxx? whats the new firmware like then? whats the benefits compared to the slurry that ive been reading about the n97? like how its doomed, awefull and all sorts of dreadfull things which worry me since i have bought one!! :S what do u think will be in the next firmware? Thanks

Also a lot of those reviews were on old firmware, and that is Nokia's fault for released unstable firmware. The newest firmware is 10x better and the difference is like night and day. Next firmware will be even better!

cant wait for kinetic scroling! looks well amazing =] getting my nokia n97 on wednesday this week, looking forward to it! ready really bad reviews. but they were really biased against all nokia phones, i eventually found a reputable reviewer and it got a really good right up! i really hope they overclock the cpu to about 600Mhz to match the iphone! =]
