Hello, Fanatics! My name is MajorDouble7 and I’m here to tell you about a free game from the Ovi Store called Fifteen Touch.
Check out a couple ScreenSnaps from my N97:

Left: Game starts out with bottom-right corner empty. Right: One move from victory.
The object of Fifteen Touch is to move 14 numerical squares into the correct order…perhaps a familiar game from years past for most of you. Squares can only be moved into the lone, ‘fifteenth’ square, thus making a sound strategy necessary. I’m sure that most of you will recognize this form of game play, so I won’t waste any more space on describing the mechanics of the game. Instead I’ll quickly point out that on the bottom of the screen, on the left-hand side, there are two counters. The top one keeps track of how long it takes you to find the correct arrangement, while the bottom one shows how many moves it takes. The two on the right are exactly the same only it’s a record of your best time and shortest moves.
Like most free games out there, Fifteen Touch is the perfect time-waster. Many times throughout the course of my day I find myself in 4 or 5 minute ‘gaps’ with nothing to do but look stupid. Being a long time Nokia user, I have always relied on those ‘stock’ games that came with my device to kill the boredom (my all-time favorite is ‘Bounce,’ but I digress).
That being said, there’s a lot more to Fifteen Touch than mindless time-killing. On the contrary; it’s highly addictive, somewhat challenging, and has a magnificent User Interface (UI)…all of which are key components to the perfect ‘Time Killer.’
The addiction stems from the fact that Fifteen Touch keeps track of your best time and shortest moves. I don’t know about you, but it’s always fun for me to try and beat my high score. If it weren’t for this simple little feature, the game would almost lose all of its value to me.
Of course the challenging bit comes from the fact that if you’re not familiar with the game, or haven’t quite figured out a strategy, the game appears to be next to impossible. It can be truly be frustrating, making the game all that more involving.
And the UI is truly amazing. Offscreen did an excellent job in making this game move. It’s almost a treat to move the squares around. It’s precisely the kind of small joy that justifies your insatiable desire to get your hands on an N97.
When it comes down to it, Fifteen Touch by Offscreen is a free game that is definitely worth the download.
