One significant bonus for Mac users is that the iSync profile for the N97 works properly now, i.e., you can sync contacts as well as calendar entries.

The v20 upgrade is not available for Celcom customers in Malaysia. I had big battery problems on my new N97 with v12. Nokia looked at it for a few days and gave me a new battery.

The problem recurred a week later. Tried soft, softer and hard resets to no avail. Took it back again. This time, Nokia installed the v20 upgrade, which seems to be working.

Just spent an hour using it furiously. Previously, immediately after a 2 hour charge, 3 or 4 web pages and a 15 second phone call would cause the phone to shut down.

When this phone works, it rocks. When it doesn't, you can understand the Unabomber's point.

- glenn

There was nothing else at all other than what you described...in fact, it is amazingly easy. If I recall, it just asks the questions that you said, then it goes through a quick tutorial and shows you what Vlingo can do. After that it's worked like a charm for me every time. You may want to uninstall and reinstall it as well, that might help...again, try to set it up to connect through your mobile network, rather than your home router. There may be a problem with it accessing your home network.

MD 7

Thanks for the message, to be honest Im not to techy, so not sure what a reset will do or the risks, I wanted to ask, when you set-up Vlingo was there anything else you needed to set-up or change in the phone that wasnt included in the VL set-up. Thanks again

Mike,

I haven't had any issues with Vlingo whatsoever...you may want to think about resetting phone since the update. I did mine, and I got a ton of C Drive space and everything seems to work fine. There's a detailed article about it by @EverythingBlaxx here http://www.n97fanatics.com/so-you-want-to-reset...

If you're not into resetting your phone, the only thing I can suggest is trying to connect via GPRS instead of your home network...not sure why this would make a difference, but perhaps it will.

Cheers,
MD 7

The phone is much better with the update, faster, easier to use.
The only problem I have had so far is trying to set up Vlingo, when I go through the set-up stages select language, next then data plan required , ive choosen my Home wireless router - next- checking connection that seems to work, then accpet terms . I then do the hold and speak do as requested then get this message

An unexpected server error has occured, please try again.

Ive tried know so many tims and it still doesnt work, has anyone had the same problem, have you managed to find a solution.
Vlingo look quite a good app, I wouldnt mind giving at try, so any suggestion would be much apprecaited. Thanks MM
